Saint Joseph Church
Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Ayutthaya's old town, this Roman Catholic church marks the site of Thailand's first French Catholic mission. Visitors go here to see the antique facade of the current building, which was completed in 1891, and to experience a different architectural style compared to the city's Buddhist temples.

The church is situated within the old town area. From the city center, it is accessible via a short tuk-tuk ride or bicycle trip, typically taking about 5 to 10 minutes depending on your starting point.
Visit Duration
Allow approximately 30 to 60 minutes to view the exterior architecture and the interior of the church.
When to Visit
Visiting during the early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday heat. Like many sites in the historical center, it can become busier during peak tourist seasons.
