Wat Maheyong

Wat Maheyong is a Buddhist temple dating back to the Ayutthaya Kingdom. First constructed in 1438 and restored in the early 18th century, the site contains old temple architecture and various Buddha images. Visitors go here to observe the ruins and study the historical layout of the ancient city of Ayutthaya.

Getting There

The temple is located within the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya historical area. From the city centre, it is accessible via tuk-tuk or bicycle. The trip typically takes 10 to 15 minutes depending on the starting point and mode of transport.

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to walk through the grounds and view the remaining structures and religious imagery.

When to Visit
