Wat Thammikarat
Wat Thammikarat is a temple site located just outside the boundaries of the Ayutthaya Historical Park. It consists of a mix of ancient ruins and newer structures. Visitors go here to see the remnants of the old temple architecture and to observe a site that remains an active place of worship for locals.
Getting There
The temple is located near U Thong Road. From the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya city centre, it is accessible via tuk-tuk or rental bicycle. The trip typically takes 10 to 15 minutes depending on the mode of transport.
Visit Duration
Allow approximately 45 to 60 minutes to walk through the grounds and view the ruins and the active temple buildings.
When to Visit
Early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday heat. The site is generally less crowded than the primary temples within the historical park, though it remains a functional religious site.
