Černá stráň Nature Reserve
Černá stráň is a nature reserve located on the slopes of Hůrka Hill near Starý Plzenec. It is primarily a site of geological interest, recognized for the presence of Paleozoic fossils. Visitors typically go here for hiking and to observe the local rock formations and natural landscape.
Getting There
The reserve is located outside the city of Plzeň. To reach the site, travel to the town of Starý Plzenec. From the village square, a marked trail leads directly into the reserve. Depending on the mode of transport from Plzeň city centre, the journey takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
Visit Duration
Allow 2 to 3 hours to walk the trail from the village square, explore the geological features of the slopes, and return.
When to Visit
The area is best visited during the spring and autumn for moderate hiking temperatures. As it is a nature reserve rather than a major tourist hub, it does not typically experience heavy crowds.
