Pari Urqu
Pari Urqu
Pari Urqu is a mountain located west of Potosí at an elevation of approximately 3,950 meters. Travelers visit this site to leave the urban environment and view the surrounding Andean landscape and the nearby Cerro Rico.
Getting There
The mountain is located on the outskirts of the city. From the city centre, it can be reached via a short trip by taxi or a hike heading west. The travel time is minimal due to its proximity to the urban core.
Duration of Visit
Depending on the pace of the ascent and the amount of time spent observing the views, visitors typically allow one to three hours for the experience.
When to Visit
Due to the high altitude, it is advisable to visit during the day when temperatures are higher. Visitors should be mindful of the thin air and potential for rapid weather changes common in the Andes. The site does not typically experience the same level of crowding as the city's central museums.

Because of its location, this site can be combined with several central landmarks in Potosí:
- Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace (0.6km)
- San Lorenzo Church (0.6km)
- National Mint of Bolivia (0.7km)
- Plaza 10 de Noviembre (0.8km)
