Petřín Lookout Tower

Located atop Petřín Hill, this 63.5-meter steel structure was built in 1891 and resembles a smaller version of the Eiffel Tower. Visitors go here to access an observation deck that provides a high vantage point over the city of Prague.

Getting There

From the city centre, you can reach the tower by taking a tram to the base of Petřín Hill and then using the cable car to ascend the slope. The total journey typically takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on your starting point and waiting times for the cable car.

Time Allotment

Allow approximately 1.5 to 2 hours for the visit. This includes the time spent ascending the tower and viewing the city from the top.

When to Visit

The tower gets crowded during peak tourist seasons and on weekends. To avoid long queues for the lift or stairs, arrive early in the morning. Visiting during the autumn months provides clear visibility and fewer crowds than in the summer.
