Černín Palace

This is the largest Baroque palace in Prague. Built in the 1660s, the building currently serves as the seat of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Travelers visit the site to view its Baroque architecture and its position within the Hradčany district.

Getting There

The palace is located in the Hradčany area, west of the city center. From the center, you can take a tram to the Pohořelec stop. The journey typically takes 15 to 20 minutes depending on your starting point and traffic.

Time Allocation

Since the building is an active government office, interior access is limited. Most visitors spend 30 to 60 minutes viewing the exterior and the surrounding courtyard.

When to Visit

The area is generally quieter in the early morning. Like most sites near the castle district, it can get crowded during peak tourist seasons in summer. Visiting during the shoulder seasons of spring or autumn provides a more balanced experience.
