Wallenstein Palace

Located in the Malá Strana district of Prague, this Baroque palace was originally built as the residence for General Wallenstein. Today, it serves as the seat of the Czech Senate. Visitors go here to see the Baroque architecture and the expansive palace gardens, which feature a grotto and a large retaining wall.

Getting There

The palace is situated in the Lesser Town area, below Prague Castle. From the city centre (Old Town Square), you can take a tram or walk across the Charles Bridge. The journey typically takes 15 to 25 minutes depending on the mode of transport.

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to explore the grounds and the gardens. The time required may vary depending on whether the interior rooms are open for public access during your visit.

When to Visit

The gardens are seasonal and are not open throughout the entire year. To avoid the largest crowds, visit during weekday mornings. The area becomes crowded during the peak summer tourist season.
