Punakha Dzong
Punakha Dzong
This fortress-monastery serves as the administrative center for the Punakha region and is one of the oldest and largest dzongs in Bhutan. Built in 1637, it houses sacred relics of the Drukpa Kagyu tradition. Travelers visit this site to observe traditional Bhutanese architecture and learn about the religious and administrative history of the region.
