Gibeon is an archaeological site of an ancient Canaanite city located near the village of Al-Jib. Travelers visit this location to see the physical remains of a settlement mentioned in biblical texts and to explore the ancient traces preserved in the landscape.

Getting There

The site is located outside the center of Ramallah. Access is typically via taxi or rental car. The drive from the city center takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

Duration of Visit

Allow roughly 1 to 2 hours to walk through the site and examine the ruins. The area is relatively compact, making it a short stop compared to larger archaeological parks.

When to Visit

The site is outdoors and exposed to the elements. Visiting during the spring or autumn is recommended to avoid the extreme heat of the summer and the rains of winter. Morning visits are preferable for cooler temperatures. It does not typically experience heavy crowds.
