Despić House

This building is a former merchant's residence constructed in 1881 by a wealthy Serbian family. Now operating as a branch of the Sarajevo Museum, it serves as an ethnographic museum that displays the traveler can visit to see the domestic architecture and interior design of the late 19th century in Sarajevo.

The house is located within the Baščaršija district, the historic center of the city. Because it is situated in the heart of the old town, it is accessible on foot from most central points. Depending on your starting location in the city center, the walk typically takes between 5 and 15 minutes.
