63 Building

What It Is

Completed in 1985, the 63 Building is a 249-meter skyscraper located on Yeouido along the Han River. It serves as an established landmark and vantage point, giving visitors direct views over the river, bridges, and the wider Seoul skyline.

Getting There

From central Seoul, transit takes approximately 25 to 40 minutes. Take the subway to either Yeouido Station (Line 5 or 9) or Saetgang Station (Line 9 or Sillim Line), followed by a short local bus connection or a 15-minute walk along the riverfront.

How Much Time to Allow

Plan to spend about 1 to 2 hours on-site. This is sufficient time to reach the observation level, take in the views in each direction, and walk through the complex.

When to Go

Late afternoon is practical for observing the city in daylight and staying through the transition to night illumination. Clear weather is essential for long-range visibility. The facility gets crowded on weekends, public holidays, and around sunset, whereas weekday mornings are significantly quieter.

What to Combine It With

Several nearby points of interest can be added to your itinerary:

  • Parc1 (1.3km): A major mixed-use complex with extensive retail and dining spaces.
  • Yeouido (1.7km): The surrounding district, known for its riverside parks and walking paths.
  • Yoido Full Gospel Church (1.9km): A notable religious site located further north on the island.
  • National Museum of Korea (3.6km): A large cultural museum located across the Han River in Yongsan.
