Grand Mosque

The Grand Mosque stands in Dubai's Bur Dubai area, between the textile souk and the Dubai Museum near a small creek. First built in 1900, it was rebuilt in 1960 and again in 1998, and now holds up to 1,200 worshippers; non-Muslims can join free tours Sunday through Thursday from 9 AM to 11:30 AM, and the mosque remains the hub of Dubai's religious and cultural life.

Dubai City Tower

Dubai City Tower was a proposed skyscraper unveiled in 2008, designed to reach a height of 2,400 meters upon completion. Had it been built, it would have stood roughly three times as tall as the Burj Khalifa and seven times as tall as the Empire State Building.
