Russian Orthodox Church, Sharjah
About the Church
Opened in 2011 under the Patriarchate of Antioch, this is the only Orthodox church on the Arabian Peninsula. Visitors typically come to view its traditional Russian-Byzantine architectural design, featuring distinct domes and interior iconography rarely seen elsewhere in the region.
Getting There
The church is located in the Al Yarmook district. Driving or taking a taxi from central Sharjah takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Taxis offer the most direct transport from the city centre.
