Cape Spartel is a coastal promontory situated 12 kilometers west of Tangier, Morocco. Positioned at the northwesternmost point of the African continent and marking the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar, it is the geographic point where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. Visitors come to view the coastal scenery, observe the meeting of the two water bodies, and see the historic lighthouse on the cliff edge.
Getting There
From central Tangier, the drive follows the coastal route westward. A grand taxi, rental vehicle, or private driver typically takes 20 to 30 minutes to cover the 12-kilometer distance from the city center.

Allow 45 minutes to 1.5 hours on site. This provides ample time to walk along the viewpoints, take in the ocean views, and explore the grounds around the lighthouse.
When to Visit
