Overview
The Church of Saint Catherine is a Byzantine-era Greek Orthodox church located in the Ano Poli district of Thessaloniki. It is included among the city's Byzantine monuments designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors come to observe its late Byzantine architectural style, decorative brick masonry, and surviving 14th-century wall paintings.
Getting There
From central Thessaloniki, reaching the site takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes on foot, walking uphill from Aristotelous Square. Local municipal buses running toward the Upper Town also stop within a short walk of the entrance.
