MOMus–Museum of Contemporary Art–Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art and State Museum of Contemporary Art Collections
What It Is
Located on the Thessaloniki International Fair grounds, this museum houses the collection of the former Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art alongside State Museum collections. It exhibits Greek and international contemporary painting, sculpture, and multimedia works. Travellers visit to see 20th- and 21st-century artwork alongside rotating temporary exhibitions.
Getting There
From central points like Aristotelous Square, walking east takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Local city buses also connect the city centre to the exhibition grounds in roughly 10 minutes.
How Much Time to Allow
Set aside 1 to 2 hours to comfortably view the permanent galleries and any current temporary displays.
When to Go
Visiting around midday offers a quiet indoor experience and relief from warm weather. The museum rarely gets crowded, though the surrounding fairgrounds see higher foot traffic during major events.
