Artizon Museum
The Artizon Museum holds the art collection assembled by the Ishibashi family, founders of Bridgestone, and operated under the Bridgestone Museum of Art name until it reopened under its current name in 2018 in a rebuilt tower in Kyobashi. The collection spans Western and Japanese modern art alongside older works, giving visitors a mix of European painting and Japanese pieces in one building. It suits travellers who want a focused art stop without the crowds of the larger national museums.
Getting there
The museum sits in the Kyobashi/Nihonbashi area of central Tokyo, within walking distance of Tokyo Station. From Tokyo Station it's roughly a 5-10 minute walk. From other central areas like Ginza or Marunouchi, expect a short walk or a couple of subway stops plus a short walk to the entrance.
How much time to allow
Plan on about 1.5 to 2 hours to see the collection at a comfortable pace, more if there's a special exhibition running alongside the permanent collection.
When to go
Weekday mornings tend to be quieter than weekends and afternoons. If a popular special exhibition is on, expect more visitors and possibly a wait to enter, so arriving early in the day helps.

- Nihonbashi (0.3km) — close enough to combine as a short walk before or after the museum.
- Marunouchi (0.6km) — a walkable extension for shopping and architecture around Tokyo Station.

- Tokyo Imperial Palace (1.8km) — best treated as a separate stop given the distance, but doable in the same day if you're walking or using transit.
