The Medina of Tunis

The Medina is the historic old town of Tunis, characterized by a dense network of narrow streets, traditional markets, and residential quarters, and religious sites. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. Travelers visit this area to experience the traditional urban architecture of the region and to shop for local crafts, textiles, and spices in the souks.

The Medina is located centrally within Tunis. From the city center, it is accessible via a short taxi ride or a walk of approximately 10 to 15 minutes, depending on your starting point.
