About the Vessel

Karjala is a preserved Finnish Navy corvette moored on the Aura River in Turku. Operating as a museum ship, it allows visitors to walk the deck and explore interior compartments, offering a direct look into the naval history and onboard life of the Finnish fleet.

Getting There

The ship is located along the river southwest of the city centre. Walking from Turku Market Square along the riverside pedestrian path takes about 25 minutes, while local buses reach the area in approximately 10 minutes.

Expect to spend 45 minutes to an hour exploring the ship's control stations, crew quarters, and outer decks.

When to Visit

Summer offers the most comfortable weather for moving between exterior and interior spaces. Because hallways and companionways are narrow, the ship can feel congested during peak afternoon hours, making morning visits more comfortable.
