Rappenstein is a 2,222-meter mountain peak in Liechtenstein's Rätikon range within the Eastern Alps. Hikers travel here to complete high-elevation alpine routes that overlook the Rhine Valley and neighboring ridges.

Getting There from Vaduz

From central Vaduz, trailheads accessing the peak are reached by driving or taking local transit south toward Triesen and the Lawena area, which takes roughly 20 to 30 minutes. The remainder of the journey proceeds on foot via marked alpine trails.

Time to Allow

Budget 4 to 6 hours for the round-trip ascent and descent from the valley base, depending on personal fitness and trail conditions.

When to Visit

The recommended season runs from June to October, when snow has cleared from higher elevations. Start early in the morning to ensure sufficient daylight and avoid midday heat or afternoon weather changes. Crowds are generally moderate, though trails see higher foot traffic on clear summer weekends. Avoid the route during rain, poor visibility, or snow without specialized alpine gear.
