Iglesia Los Doce Apóstoles
Iglesia Los Doce Apóstoles
Located in the El Almendral district of Valparaíso, this 19th-century neo-Gothic church is a designated national monument. Due to damage caused by earthquakes, the interior is currently closed to the public. Visitors go here to view the exterior architecture and experience the historical atmosphere of the old port city.
Getting There
The church is situated within the flat, urban area of Valparaíso. From the city centre, it is accessible via a short walk or a brief ride on local transport. Depending on your starting point in the downtown area, the trip typically takes between 5 and 15 minutes.
Time Allotment
Since only the exterior of the building is accessible, you only need a short amount of time here. 15 to 30 minutes is generally sufficient to observe the facade and the surrounding streetscape.
When to Visit
The site is an outdoor landmark, so it can be visited at any time of day. To avoid the midday heat, early morning or late afternoon is recommended. It does not typically experience the same level of crowding as the city's main hills and viewpoints.
