Lost Lagoon

Located near the entrance of Stanley Park, this man-made lake features a 1.75-km perimeter trail. Visitors go here to walk along the water and observe local wildlife, including Canada geese, herons, and turtles, within an urban setting.

Getting There

The lagoon is accessible from Vancouver city centre via a short trip. Depending on the starting point, it is a 10 to 20-minute walk or a brief bus ride to the Stanley Park entrance area.

Duration of Visit

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to complete the full loop of the trail and observe the wildlife at a steady pace.

When to Visit

The area is accessible year-round, though wildlife is most active during the spring and summer months. Early mornings are generally quieter. Like most major attractions in the city, it can get crowded during weekends and peak tourist seasons.

Nearby Attractions

Because of its location, the lagoon can be combined with other nearby sites in Stanley Park and the surrounding area:

  • Stanley Park: 0.5km
  • Second Beach: 0.7km
  • Vancouver Aquarium: 0.9km
  • Coal Harbour: 1.1km
