She Shui

She Shui is a tributary that flows into the Yangtze River in Wuhan. It is documented in the ancient geographical text Shui Jing Zhu (Commentary on the Water Classic). Visitors go here to walk along the waterway and observe the natural landscape of a river with a long recorded history.

Getting There

The river is accessible from Wuhan city centre via taxi or local public transport. Depending on the specific section of the riverbank you visit, the journey typically takes 30 to 60 minutes.

Duration of Visit

Allow 2 to 3 hours to walk along the course of the river and observe the surroundings.

When to Visit

The area is best visited during the spring or autumn when temperatures are moderate for walking. Early morning or late afternoon provides the most stable light for viewing the waterway. Like many natural sites in Wuhan, it can become crowded during national holidays.

Nearby Attractions

You can combine a visit to the river with other sites in the region. Depending on your transport, consider these nearby locations:

  • Riverview Plaza: 7.7km
  • Happy Valley Wuhan: 8km
  • Wuhan Greenland Center: 9.2km
