太融寺
Taiyū-ji Temple
太融寺（たいゆうじ）は、大阪市北区太融寺町にある高野山真言宗の準別格本山の寺院。山号は佳木山。本尊は千手観音。新西国三十三箇所第2番札所。嵯峨源氏の祖である嵯峨天皇第十二皇子源融ゆかりの寺で、古くから当寺付近の地名にもなっている。
Taiyū-ji Temple
Taiyū-ji is a Buddhist temple founded in 821, sitting in the middle of Osaka's Umeda/Kita district rather than out in a quieter temple district. That central location is really the draw: it's a working temple with its grounds and halls, offering a break from the surrounding commercial streets without requiring a special trip.
Getting there
The temple is within walking distance of central Osaka's main train hubs around Umeda and Osaka Station. Depending on where you're starting from in the city centre, expect roughly a 10-20 minute walk, or a short subway or train ride plus a few minutes on foot.
How long to stay
Most visitors spend 20-40 minutes walking the grounds and viewing the halls. It's easy to fit in as a stop between other plans rather than a destination for a half-day.
When to go
Because it's tucked into a busy commercial and entertainment district, the immediate surroundings can be crowded, especially in the evening. Visiting earlier in the day tends to make for a calmer experience at the temple itself.
