Merlion Park
マーライオン公園は、シンガポールのランドマークであり、シンガポールのダウンタウンコア地区の中央ビジネス地区（CBD）に近い主要な観光名所。
What it is
Merlion Park is home to Singapore's best-known statue: the Merlion, a lion-headed, fish-tailed figure that spouts water into Marina Bay. There are actually two statues here — the original 8.6-metre Merlion and a smaller 2-metre "cub" version standing beside it. Most visitors come simply to see and photograph the statue against the backdrop of the Marina Bay Sands skyline across the water.
Getting there
The park sits at One Fullerton, right on the waterfront near the Central Business District. From the city centre it's typically a short walk or a 5-10 minute taxi/ride-share ride, depending on your starting point; Raffles Place MRT station is within walking distance, roughly 10-15 minutes on foot.
How much time to allow
Most people spend 20-30 minutes here — enough to see both statues, take photos, and enjoy the bay view. If you plan to linger along the waterfront promenade or wait for evening lighting, allow up to an hour.
When to go
The park is outdoors and unshaded, so midday sun can be intense. Early morning or evening is more comfortable and also brings better light for photos of the skyline. The site draws large numbers of visitors, especially in the late afternoon and evening, so expect crowds around the statues at those times.
What to combine it with
The park sits directly along the Singapore River (0.2km) and faces Marina Bay (0.3km), making it easy to continue along the waterfront in either direction. Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay (0.3km) and the Asian Civilisations Museum (0.4km) are both close enough to combine with a walk through the park as part of a single riverside outing.
