Marina Bay
마리나베이샌즈(영어: Marina Bay sands, 중국어 간체자: 滨海湾, 병음: bīnhǎiwān)는 싱가포르 남쪽 센트럴 에어리어에 있는 지역이다.
Marina Bay
Marina Bay is the stretch of water at the heart of Singapore's downtown, ringed by the Central Business District, Marina Bay Sands, and a promenade that loops around the waterfront. There's no single "site" to enter — it's the setting for a walk, with skyline views across the water, the Merlion, and the Gardens by the Bay conservatories visible from various points along the shore. Most visitors come to walk the promenade, take photos of the skyline, and see the free light and water shows staged on the bay in the evening.
Getting there
From the city centre, Marina Bay is reachable on foot from the Downtown Core in 15–20 minutes, or a short MRT ride to Bayfront, Downtown, or Raffles Place stations followed by a 5–10 minute walk. Taxis and ride-hailing apps also drop off close to the promenade.
How much time to allow
A walk around the main waterfront stretch takes about an hour. If you plan to stay for an evening show, watch the skyline light up, and continue on to a nearby attraction, allow two to three hours in total.
When to go
Late afternoon into evening is the most rewarding time, as the heat eases and the skyline lights up after dark. The promenade gets crowded on weekend evenings and during the evening light shows, so arrive early if you want an unobstructed spot by the water. Midday can be hot with little shade, so it's worth avoiding for a long walk.
Combine it with
- Merlion Park (0.3km) — a short walk along the promenade, a natural stop before or after the bay.
- ArtScience Museum (0.4km) — on the opposite side of the bay near Marina Bay Sands.
- Singapore River (0.5km) — connects directly to the bay and can be walked as one continuous riverside-to-bay route.
- One Raffles Place (0.5km) — a quick detour into the CBD if you want a break from the waterfront.
