Khleangs

The Khleangs consist of two symmetrical brick buildings located east of the Royal Square in Angkor Thom. While their exact purpose is unknown, they are believed to have been constructed during different reigns. Visitors go here to observe the ancient brickwork and the layout of these structures within the larger urban plan of the ancient city.

Getting There

The site is located within the Angkor Archaeological Park. From Siem Reap city centre, most travellers use a remork (tuk-tuk) or a hired car. The journey to the Angkor Thom complex typically takes 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic and the specific entry gate used.

Visit Duration

Because the site consists of only two buildings, it does not require a long visit. Most travellers spend between 20 and 40 minutes exploring the structures and the immediate surrounding area.

Timing and Crowds

To avoid the midday heat, it is advisable to visit in the early morning or late afternoon. The site can get crowded during the peak tourist season, particularly when large tour groups move through the central area of Angkor Thom.
