Mahamevnāwa Park

This historic royal garden is located in the ancient city of Anuradhapura. It is associated with the king credited with establishing Sri Lanka's first garden. Visitors go here to walk through the landscaped grounds and experience the atmosphere of the ancient capital.

Getting There

The park is situated within the central archaeological area of Anuradhapura. From the city center, it is accessible via a short tuk-tuk ride or a bicycle trip, typically taking about 5 to 10 minutes depending on the exact starting point.

Visit Duration

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to stroll through the gardens and take in the surroundings at a steady pace.
