This site contains the ruins of a 3rd-century Christian church, uncovered during excavations in 1998. It is recognized as one of the oldest purpose-built churches in existence, predating the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Visitors go here to see the early architectural foundations and mosaics of early Christianity in the region.

The site is located within the city of Aqaba. From the city centre, it is accessible via a short taxi ride or a drive, typically taking about 5 to 10 minutes depending on traffic.
