Amiralimhana Madrassa

Built in 1915 by Alim Khan, the ruler of the Bukhara Khanate, this Islamic school is an example of traditional Islamic architecture in Bukhara. Visitors go here to observe the structural design and decorative elements characteristic of the region's religious educational institutions from the early 20th century.

Getting There

The madrassa is located within the historic center of Bukhara. Since it is situated in the heart of the old city, it is accessible by foot from most central hotels and landmarks. Depending on your starting point in the center, the walk typically takes between 5 and 15 minutes.

Visit Duration

Allow approximately 30 to 60 minutes to walk through the grounds and observe the architectural details of the building.

When to Visit

To avoid the strongest heat, visit during the early morning or late afternoon. Spring and autumn are the most temperate seasons for exploring the city. This area of Bukhara is a primary tourist hub and can become crowded during peak travel hours.
