Overview

The Tim of Abdullah Khan is a 16th-century domed trading bazaar built during the Bukhara Khanate era. Located within Bukhara's UNESCO World Heritage historic area, it originally functioned as a dedicated market for silk and textiles. Travellers visit to see traditional domed brick architecture and to view stalls selling carpets, fabrics, and local handicrafts.

Getting There

The structure is situated in the pedestrian area of Bukhara's old town. From central areas such as Lyabi-Khauz, it is a 5- to 10-minute walk. From Bukhara International Airport (BHK), a taxi to the boundary of the historic district takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes, followed by a short walk on foot.

Time to Spend

Plan to spend 20 to 30 minutes walking through the central dome and side galleries to view the brickwork and vendor displays.

When to Visit

Spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) offer the most comfortable temperatures for walking around Bukhara. During hot summer months, the covered interior offers shade from the sun. The market can get crowded when tour groups arrive between late morning and early afternoon, so visit early in the morning or late in the day for a quieter experience.
