Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan

This 14th-century complex in old Cairo served as both a mosque and a madrasa (educational institution). Visitors go here to study Mamluk architecture, characterized by its massive walls, high ceilings, and the layout of its four large iwans (vaulted halls) surrounding a central courtyard.

The site is located in the historic center of Cairo. From the city center, it is accessible via taxi or ride-sharing apps. Depending on the current traffic conditions, the journey typically takes between 20 and 40 minutes.
