Mabouya Valley
Mabouya Valley
Located in the Dennery district of eastern Saint Lucia, this valley consists of lush forests and farmland divided by two winding rivers. Travelers visit the area primarily to use the hiking trails that run between the green hills.
Getting There
The valley is located east of Castries. Travelers can reach the area by car or taxi from the city center. The drive typically takes around 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Duration of Visit
Depending on the length of the hiking trails chosen, visitors should allow between 3 to 6 hours to explore the landscape and river areas.
When to Visit
Hiking is best done during the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the midday heat. Visitors should be mindful of the rainy season, which can make forest trails slippery. The area does not typically experience the same level of crowding as the main coastal resorts.
