Overview

Lovćen National Park encompasses a mountainous area in the Dinaric Alps centered on Mount Lovćen. Travellers visit primarily to hike established trail networks and observe broad ridge-line views across the rocky terrain.

Getting There

The park is located west of Cetinje. Driving from the town centre takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes by car or taxi via regional mountain roads. Podgorica Airport (TGD) is the closest international airport serving the area.

Time to Allow

Plan for 3 to 5 hours to drive through the park and complete a moderate trail. Those undertaking longer hikes across the mountain paths should allow a full day.

When to Visit

Late spring through early autumn provides the most reliable weather for hiking. Summer afternoons see the highest visitor traffic; visiting in the early morning offers cooler temperatures and fewer crowds.
