The City Observatory is a former astronomical observatory situated on Calton Hill in central Edinburgh. Visitors go to explore the historic site and look out over views of the city centre, Princes Street, and the surrounding landscape.
Getting There
From Edinburgh city centre, including Waverley Station and Princes Street, the location is reachable on foot. The walk involves an uphill climb using paved paths and steps leading up Calton Hill, taking roughly 10 to 15 minutes from the base of the hill.
