This is a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, dedicated in 2000. It is the second such temple built in Japan and the first in the southern part of the country, serving members from across Kyushu, Okinawa, Yamaguchi, Hiroshima, and Shikoku. Like other LDS temples, it is not a general tourist sight open for casual walk-through visits; access to the interior is generally limited to church members, though the exterior and grounds can typically be viewed from outside. Travellers interested in religious architecture or Latter-day Saint history may still want to stop by to see the building itself.
Getting there
The temple sits in a residential area of Fukuoka, reachable from the city centre by taxi or local bus in around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic and starting point. Travellers arriving from Fukuoka Airport (FUK) can reach the area in a similar timeframe by taxi.
Time to allow
Since visits are largely limited to viewing the building and grounds from outside, 15-30 minutes is enough for most travellers.
When to go
Daytime hours are best for viewing the exterior and grounds clearly. As this is an active place of worship rather than a tourist attraction, it does not experience the crowding typical of major sightseeing spots, though it's worth being respectful of church activities or members visiting the site.

The temple is right next to the Fukuoka Municipal Zoo and Botanical Garden (0.1km), making it an easy add-on to a visit there. The Seinan Gakuin University Biblical Botanical Garden (1.4km) is also within walking distance, and both Fukuoka Castle (1.5km) and the Kōrokan archaeological site (1.6km) can be folded into the same half-day loop around this part of the city.
