HSwMS Småland
HSwMS Småland
The HSwMS Småland is a Halland-class destroyer of the Swedish Navy. It is one of only two vessels of its class ever completed, as the other two planned ships were never built. Visitors go here to explore the interior of a rare naval vessel and see the technical layout of a mid-century warship up close.
Getting There
The ship is located in the harbor area of Gothenburg. From the city centre, it is accessible via a short tram ride or a walk of approximately 10 to 15 minutes, depending on your starting point.
Visit Duration
Allow roughly 1 to 2 hours to walk through the decks and examine the ship's equipment and living quarters.
When to Visit
The ship is outdoors and accessible during the museum's operating hours. It is most accessible during the summer months when weather conditions are mild. Like most harbor attractions, it can get crowded during weekends and peak tourist seasons.
Nearby Attractions
Because the ship is part of a larger maritime complex, it is easy to combine this visit with other nearby sites:
- HSwMS Sölve: 0km (located immediately adjacent)
- Maritiman: 0.1km
- Kronhuset: 0.3km
- Göteborgsoperan: 0.3km
