Overview
The Imperial Citadel of Thang Long is a historic site in Hanoi preserving palace foundations, gates, and archaeological relics spanning centuries of Vietnamese dynastic rule. Visitors can view surviving architecture, excavated artifacts, and underground military bunkers from the twentieth century.
Getting There
Located just west of the Old Quarter, the complex is a 15- to 20-minute walk from the city centre. A taxi or ride-hailing trip typically takes 5 to 10 minutes, depending on traffic.
