Burgaz Adası
What to Expect
Burgaz Adası, historically known as Antigoni, is the third-largest of the Princes' Islands in the Sea of Marmara off Istanbul. Visitors come to explore its quiet residential lanes, pine-covered hills, and relaxed coastal paths away from the busy mainland.
Getting There
Ferries depart regularly from central Istanbul terminals, including Eminönü, Kabataş, and Kadıköy. The crossing across the Sea of Marmara takes approximately 45 to 75 minutes depending on the port of origin.
Recommended Duration
Plan to spend 3 to 5 hours on the island, which leaves enough time to walk or cycle around the roads and stop for lunch near the ferry pier.
When to Visit
Late spring through early autumn offers pleasant weather for walking. Weekends in summer become very crowded on ferries and in harbor areas, so a weekday morning visit is preferable to avoid crowds.
