KV46: The Tomb of Yuya and Tjuyu
Located in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, KV46 is the burial site of Yuya and Tjuyu, the parents of Queen Tiye and parents-in-law to Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Visitors go here to see the well-preserved wall paintings and the significant collection of grave goods recovered during its 1905 excavation, which remained largely intact despite ancient robberies.
Getting There
The tomb is situated on the West Bank of the Nile. From Luxor city centre, travelers typically cross the river via ferry or bridge and take a taxi or shuttle to the Valley of the Kings entrance. The journey generally takes 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic and the crossing method.
