Samuil's Fortress
Located in the old town of Ohrid, this fortification served as the capital of the First Bulgarian Empire during the early 11th century. Visitors go here to explore the restored stone walls and towers, which provide a vantage point over the city and Lake Ohrid.
Getting There
The fortress is situated on a hill overlooking the old town. From the city centre, it is accessible via a short walk uphill. Depending on your starting point, the walk typically takes between 10 and 20 minutes.

When to Visit
