Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave
This is a limestone cave located in Pokhara, Nepal. It is situated directly across from Davis Falls, and the waterfall flows into the cave system. Visitors go here to explore the underground caverns and visit the shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva located inside.
Getting There
The cave is located on the outskirts of the city center. You can reach it via taxi or local transport from the lakeside area. The journey typically takes 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Duration of Visit
Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to descend the stairs, walk through the cave passages, and return to the surface.
When to Visit
The site can get crowded during peak tourist seasons and on religious holidays. Visiting in the early morning helps avoid the largest crowds. Be aware that the cave environment can be damp and slippery, particularly during the monsoon season.
