Tal Barahi Temple

This is a Hindu temple situated on a small island in the center of Phewa Lake. Visitors travel to the site to observe the architecture and the surrounding lake environment. Because the temple is located on an island, it is accessible only by boat.

Getting There

From Pokhara city centre, walk to the shores of Phewa Lake. From the lakeside area, hire a boat to transport you to the island. The boat trip typically takes between 15 to 30 minutes depending on the starting point along the shore.

Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours for the entire visit, including the round-trip boat journey and time spent exploring the temple grounds.

When to Visit

The site can get crowded during religious festivals and peak tourist seasons. Visiting in the early morning often avoids the heaviest crowds and provides calmer water conditions for the boat crossing.
