Alipašino polje
Alipašino polje
Located in the Novi Grad municipality on the west side of Sarajevo, this is a large planned residential district. It is characterized by rows of high-rise and mid-rise apartment blocks dating from the socialist era. Travelers visit this area to observe the city's past urban development and the architectural style of the former Yugoslavia.
Getting There
The area is accessible from the city centre via public transport, primarily by tram or bus heading west. The journey typically takes between 20 and 30 minutes depending on traffic and the specific starting point in the center.
Duration of Visit
Since this is a residential neighborhood rather than a concentrated tourist site, one to two hours is generally sufficient to walk through the streets and observe the architecture.
When to Visit
The district is best visited during the day when the neighborhood is active. There are no specific peak tourist seasons for this area, and it does not typically experience the crowding found in the historic old town.
Nearby Attractions
Because of its location in the western part of the city, this area can be combined with visits to other nearby sites:
- King Fahd Mosque (0.6km)
- Istiqlal Mosque (1.1km)
- Sarajevo Tunnel (2.8km)
- Grbavica (3.2km)
