Festina Lente

Festina Lente is a 38-meter pedestrian bridge crossing the Miljacka River. Designed by students from the Academy of Fine Arts and opened in 2012, the structure features a looped midsection that provides a wider area for pedestrians to stop and look at the surrounding city. Travelers visit this spot to observe the river and the architectural contrast of Sarajevo from a stationary point over the water.

Getting There

The bridge is located within the central urban area of Sarajevo. From the city center, it is accessible via a short walk of approximately 5 to 10 minutes, depending on your starting point.

Time Allotment

Since this is a small architectural installation, most visitors spend between 15 and 30 minutes here to cross the bridge and take photographs.

When to Visit

The bridge is open to the public at all times. Visiting during the day provides the best visibility of the river and city skyline. Like many central landmarks, it can become crowded during peak tourist seasons or weekend afternoons.
