Augstenberg is a 2,365-meter mountain peak in the Rätikon range of the Eastern Alps, situated near the border between Liechtenstein and Austria. Hikers visit the area for alpine trail routes and elevated viewpoints overlooking surrounding valleys and mountain ridges.

Getting There

From central Vaduz, travel east to the alpine village of Malbun by car or regional bus, which typically takes 25 to 35 minutes. Trailheads leading up toward the peak begin around Malbun.

Time to Allow

Plan for roughly 4 to 6 hours to complete a return hike from the base, accounting for elevation gain, rest stops, and time at the ridge.

When to Visit

The hiking season runs from late spring through autumn, once snow has cleared from higher trails. Starting in the morning helps avoid midday heat and unpredictable afternoon mountain weather. The paths see moderate use on sunny summer weekends, while weekdays are considerably quieter.
