ウフィツィ美術館 、またはウッフィッツィ美術館は、イタリアのフィレンツェにあるルネサンス絵画で有名な美術館である。1591年より部分的に公開されており、近代式の美術館としてヨーロッパ最古のものの1つである。またイタリア国内の美術館としては収蔵品の質、量ともに最大のものである。1982年に世界遺産フィレンツェ歴史地区の一部として認定されている。
What it is
The Uffizi is Florence's main art museum, occupying a 16th-century administrative building next to Piazza della Signoria. Its collections cover the Italian Renaissance in depth, with works by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael, among many others. It's the reason most art-focused travellers come to Florence in the first place.
Getting there
The Uffizi sits in the historic centre, within easy walking distance of most central hotels — typically 10-15 minutes on foot from the Duomo. Florence's centre is largely pedestrian-friendly, so a taxi or bus rarely saves time over walking. If arriving by air, both Florence Airport (FLR) and Pisa Airport (PSA) connect to the city centre by train or shuttle bus, followed by a short walk or tram ride to the museum.
Time to allow
Plan for at least two to three hours to see the main collection at a reasonable pace. Visitors with a strong interest in Renaissance art often spend half a day, given the density of major works across the galleries.
When to go
The Uffizi is one of the most visited museums in Italy, and queues can be long, especially in the late morning and early afternoon during spring and summer. Arriving close to opening time tends to mean shorter waits. Booking a timed-entry ticket in advance is strongly advisable regardless of season.
What to combine it with
The museum sits within a few minutes of several other central sights. Piazza della Signoria (0.2km) and Ponte Vecchio (0.2km) are both an easy stroll away and pair naturally with a Uffizi visit. Art and history enthusiasts may also want to fit in the Museo Galileo (0.1km), just next door, or the Vasari Corridor (0.1km), the elevated passage linking the Uffizi to the Palazzo Pitti.
