博物館・美術館

ウフィツィ美術館

ウフィツィ美術館は、フィレンツェのシニョリーア広場近くにある美術館で、イタリア・ルネサンス期の絵画コレクションで広く知られています。ボッティチェッリ、レオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチ、ミケランジェロ、ラファエロなどの作品を一度に鑑賞できるため、ルネサンス美術の流れを自分の目で確かめたい旅行者に適した場所です。

サンタ・マリア・デル・フィオーレ大聖堂

サンタ・マリア・デル・フィオーレ大聖堂はフィレンツェの大司教座聖堂で、1296年にアルノルフォ・ディ・カンビオの設計によりゴシック様式で着工され、1436年にフィリッポ・ブルネレスキ設計のドームが完成して竣工しました。外壁は白い大理石に緑とピンクの大理石を組み合わせた化粧板で覆われており、ファサードは19世紀にエミリオ・デ・ファブリスが手がけたゴシック・リバイバル様式です。

ピッティ宮殿

ピッティ宮殿は、アルノ川の南側、ヴェッキオ橋からほど近い場所に建つ大規模なルネサンス様式の宮殿です。1458年にフィレンツェの銀行家ルカ・ピッティの邸宅として建てられ、その後メディチ家の所有となってから大きく拡張されました。

ヴェッキオ橋

ヴェッキオ橋は、アルノ川に架かる中世の石橋で、橋の両側に店が立ち並ぶ独特の構造が特徴です。かつては肉屋やなめし革工房、青果商が軒を連ねていましたが、現在は金細工や宝石を扱う貴金属店、美術ギャラリー、土産物店が並んでいます。第二次世界大戦時、フィレンツェの橋の中で唯一破壊を免れた橋でもあります。

サンタ・クローチェ聖堂

サンタ・クローチェ聖堂は、フィレンツェを代表するフランシスコ会の教会で、ドゥオモから南東へ約800メートルのサンタ・クローチェ広場に建っています。かつては市壁の外に広がる湿地だった場所に建てられました。

サン・ジョヴァンニ洗礼堂

サン・ジョヴァンニ洗礼堂とも呼ばれるこの八角形の建物は、フィレンツェの守護聖人である洗礼者ヨハネに捧げられており、ドゥオーモ広場とサン・ジョヴァンニ広場の間、大聖堂と大司教宮殿の間に位置しています。ブロンズ扉の浮彫や内部天井を埋め尽くすモザイクを目当てに訪れる人が多く、大聖堂とともに長らく都市の宗教生活の中心を担ってきました。

バルジェロ美術館

バルジェッロ宮殿は13世紀に建てられたフィレンツェ最古の公共建築のひとつで、かつては行政庁舎、警察本部、牢獄として使われていました。1865年からは国立美術館となり、ルネサンス彫刻を中心とした所蔵品を展示しています。

サンタ・マリア・ノヴェッラ教会

サンタ・マリア・ノヴェッラ教会は、フィレンツェにあるドミニコ会の教会で、トスカーナ地方のロマネスク・ゴシック様式建築の中でも最も重要な建物のひとつとされ、世界遺産にも登録されています。1290年に着工し、完成までおよそ200年を要して、1420年に聖別されました。
