青蓮寺
Shōren-ji Temple
Shōren-ji (青蓮寺) is a Buddhist temple in Tennōji-ku, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. It was founded by Prince Shōtoku, and is affiliated with Kōyasan Shingon-shū.

Shōren-ji is a small Buddhist temple in Tennōji-ku, part of the Kōyasan Shingon-shū sect. Tradition credits its founding to Prince Shōtoku, the 6th-century regent linked to the early spread of Buddhism in Japan. Getting there
The temple sits in central Osaka, within walking distance of Namba and Dōtonbori. From the Namba/Dōtonbori area, it's roughly a 15-20 minute walk east, or a short subway or taxi ride if you'd rather not walk. Coming from Kansai International Airport (KIX), take a train or limousine bus into central Osaka first, then continue on to the temple by local transport.

Plan for 15-30 minutes. The grounds are modest in size, and most visitors take a brief look at the temple buildings before moving on.
When to go
Mornings tend to be quieter. Because it's a smaller temple away from the main tourist circuit, it generally doesn't get crowded, making it a low-key stop compared to the busy shopping and dining streets nearby.
